I was 3 months pregnant while Jason and I were up north mid-September with my family. I remember being on the dock when my mom and dad had gotten back from one of our favorite place to shop up there, Brownwood. My mom brought me a bag and inside was a shirt. She was so excited to buy something for baby Burgess. She felt so bad that it was so big, but it was the smallest size they had and thought the yellow was very gender neutral. "Baby Burgess will need a shirt from Up North!," she said. Up north was one of my mom's favorite places to be.
This morning, Macey was looking at pictures and pointed out my mom and said, "This is my other grandma!" I am amazed at how well she recognizes her and questions nothing. She was 14 months old when my mom passed away.

I teared up at this post! I SO remember being on the dock when mom came home with that shirt (and bags of candy) from Brownwood. I'm so happy Macey remembers her other Grandma :)
I got a lump in my throat about this one. Is it the first time Macey has worn the shirt...never give that one away.
I, too, had tears in my eyes after reading your post, Jen. Your mom was SO excited about being a grandma, and then of course when Macey was born she was beside herself with happiness. I'm sure you'll never let Mace forget her "other grandma" and how special she was...
As someone who lost her Dad 3 years ago this week I have tears in my eyes and completely understand the "Special Meaning". The only solace that I have in losing my baby is that I always wanted my children to know their Grandpa and now they will live together in heavan. Sending you love and thoughts. Kate
Another one with tears in her eyes . Sweet t-shirt and am so happy Macey remembers her wonderful grandma. I am sure Renee looks down from heaven smiling continuously at her darling kids and grandkids.
My heart still breaks for you, losing your mom so young. Aren't you glad now that she bought the shirt so big? I bet Macey will fit into it for a while. :)
I felt like it would take forever for her to fit into and here she is 3 tomorrow. It's like a birthday gift from my mom :)
