One year old Taylie

Stats:

17 lbs 1 oz
28 1/4 inches
two top teeth, two bottom

For weight she has fallen below the chart :( The doctor thinks it might just be where her weight might always be considering her built and our family built, but we are going back to do a weight check in two weeks to see if she has gained. She is a terrible eater so I am a bit concerned and want her to plump up a bit! We got some ideas and trying our best to fill her up on calories right now.

She is very healthy otherwise!

She has been a terrible sleeper her whole first year of life, but somehow has made a great turn and for the last month has been sleeping really well.
Bedtime: 7:30pm-7:15am
Naps: usually from 9:30-11:00
and 2:00-3:30

She sleeps with her paci, bunny blankie, and a stuffed baby. A lot of times we find her going to her room to pull one of these from her crib and ask if she wants to go night night and she nods yes. She usually likes going to sleep and hardly ever fusses.

She has been sleeping through the night, but still will once in awhile wake up once to feed.

Doesn't really say clear words, but attempts to say:

duck
dad

dora
she likes "d" words :)

Nicknames:

Diah
Da-gutta-gu
Pri!
(It's not me who gives her these weird names)

She is at the age where they learn so much everyday. It's fun to see her starting to follow directions we give her. Like tonight I asked her to go get her lotion after bath since I forgot it, and sure enough she goes to her room, gets it and brings it to me. But I do have to watch it because tonight she had Kelsey's flip flops and I said, "icky! go put them back by the door" and she only in took the "icky" part because I found them later in the garbage can.

She will be attending preschool twice a week this fall at mine and Elizabeth's house with about 6 other children. I think she will love it! :)

Summer update

We've been busy with a little of this and a little of that for the past few weeks. Kelsey went camping with Jason's mom, sister and boys up in Grand Haven at the State Park last Monday through Wednesday. We planned to switch the girls on Wednesday and let Macey stay Wed-Sat. I kept Macey home the first part of the week because I suspected she had swimmer's ear. I brought her in finally on Tuesday and after removing a lot of wax, the Dr. determined there was no infection so she was good to go camping! We all spent the day in GH on Wednesday and even got to visit with Brenda and Lisa who were at the beach as well. We walked into town since it was Coast Guard festival and got a little junk food, ate dinner, and came home with Kelsey and Taylie late that night and left Macey behind. Friday morning I got a call that Macey only slept 2 hours because her ear hurt so bad :( I drove up with the other two girls since Jason was doing some concrete work and met them in Holland to bring Mace to an urgent care. Sure enough it was swimmer's ear and she was in pain. Her camping trip was made short by a day and I took her on home with me. Finally a few days later, she is back to herself again. Phew...that wasn't fun to see her go through. Here are some other random pictures of what we've been up to.

Here I am running my first 5K! laugh :)

Colon has an annual 5K during Magic Week. The course starts at the high school and and goes past Elizabeth's and my house so it was fun to run by people cheering us on. The water stand was set up in front of my house so Kelsey was able to hand me my cup :)

Here are a few pictures from Yogi Bear Campground in Fremont, IN.

Making bracelets at craftime.

Picture time with Yogi and friends! (this was Macey's favorite thing during the trip)

Taylie loved this fountain and would run through it over and over laughing.

I've been so bad about taking pictures lately so I will try to be better!
