Kelsey went to school with a "five" shirt on to celebrate her birthday.
She picked fudge striped cookies to share for a treat.
While she was at school, I set up the big tent in the family room as a surprise.
I had preschool here today and the theme was fish.
Instead of having cake or cookies to celebrate her birthday at "our" preschool, we turned the family room into a movie theater and the kids ate popcorn in the tent during the movie.
Kelsey enjoyed all her gifts from her friends. (tradition is that each kid wraps up something in their house they no longer need to give to the birthday kid)
One special gift she got was an Annie coffee mug. She asked for some coffee for it and I let her.
Once Mace was home from school, we went to the library's Cupcake Party. A local baker set up many varieties of cupcakes for the kids to decorate and eat.
Of course we had to pick out more books when we were done eating.
I made my first ever chicken pot pie for dinner along with some crockpot applesauce.
I went to Walmart to get the last of the party supplies and food for Macey and Kelsey's American Girl themed Tea Party on Saturday.
I was bummed they were out of raspberry sherbet for our punch. Now I need to make another outing tomorrow, arg.
I need to go now hang some streamers in the stairwell for a sweet little girl that turns FIVE tomorrow!

Bits and Pieces
It was another snow day!
We all played outside in the snow for awhile: we made snow angels, a huge snowman, and got pulled in the sled.
Had hot cocoa.
I ran on the treadmill.
Macey's friend Sophia came over at noon to play. They loved talking about school, playing Littlest Pet Shop, and coloring together.
Jason went to school to work.
Instead of doing a friend's birthday party, each girl could pick one friend to take with them to Chuck E Cheese so today I took 4 little girls to eat pizza and play games.
Thanks to 5 coupons total, we all ate, drank, and had a lot of fun for pretty cheap!
I looked back in the van and noticed Peighton holding Kelsey's hand.
Macey gave a pair of her dangly peace sign earrings to Sophia so they could both wear them today.
We needed some McDonalds ice cream as a snack while watching Brave on the 45 min drive back home.
Taylie waited up for us and was excited we brought her home a Chuck E Cheese ball since she didn't come along.
I submitted a picture of our snowman to woodtv.com for fun. We'll see if they post it.

Bits and Pieces
I started the day with opening a fresh new bag of Joe unleaded coffee from Amish store. Knowing I only paid $2.50 for the bag made it taste even better.
I stood behind a curtain for almost 5 minutes before Taylie found me while playing a game of hide-n-seek.
Taylie learned about ovals and eggs at preschool today.
Kelsey invented a fishing game today using a play fishing pole from a puzzle and plastic octopuses.
The weather outside today was as yucky as can be...rain, sleet, and now snow. All after school events were cancelled and teachers were told to go right home so Jason was home by 4pm.
I enjoyed my lunch a lot at preschool today :) Yoder's chicken noodle soup, cinnamon roll, and an orange pineapple cupcake thanks to the other moms.
Macey started the book "Meet Molly" that she got for her birthday.
Taylie enjoyed a Fruit by the Foot for snack.
Taylie picked Macey over me to comfort her when she hit her head on the table.
I put comfy pants on before dinner...about 2 minutes later, I noticed Taylie had switched into her "comfy" pants as well.
We had leftovers for dinner.
Kelsey was mad I didn't let her build a fort 15 min before bedtime.
All the girls made cool artwork today using markers on paper towel and painting on it with water (thanks Elizabeth for the fun idea)
After her sisters went to bed, Taylie and I read books for an hour before her bedtime.

Bits and Pieces
This special girl turned SEVEN today!
She woke up and went right to the growth chart to mark her height of 4 ft 2 in.
She handed out Oreos at school, received a pencil at the assembly, and wore a crown.
She was happy with her chef salad and strawberries & bananas for dinner.
I had her fill out a Birthday Questionaire. (a new tradition we're starting)
Here's a few of her answers: Her favorite color is blue, wants to be a teacher, loves Austin and Ally, Full House, coloring, and has 4 best friends.
Taylie helped me get good deals at two Amish stores today.
Kelsey found a penny at school today and brought home another Graham Cracker Goldfish for Mace.
Kelsey helped me make brownies.
Kelsey hung many balloons and streamers around the house to surprise Macey.
Taylie and Kelsey hid behind the chair while I got Mace off the bus and jumped out to say "Surprise!" as we sung "Happy Birthday".
Macey played Battleship with Jason while I took Kelsey to gymnastics.
Macey informed us at dinner that they are learning about reusing and recycling at school as well as rectangular prisms, cylinders, spheres, pyramids, and other 3-D shapes.
Kelsey said she learned about Bears.

Bits and Pieces
I beat Macey in Battleship.
Jason beat Macey in Battleship.
She handled both loses very well.
Kelsey dressed up like a Cinderella bride for her friend, Peighton's Princess Party.
We did at home Sunday School this morning and learned about Forgiveness.
Taylie named one of her dolls, Kyla and put her to sleep in her bed for a nap.
I made spaghetti with sauteed chicken and grape tomatoes for dinner. (Pinterest of course)

Taylie and I played two games of Topple.
Macey helped me cut fabric to make a "7" shirt for her to wear for her birthday tomorrow.
Jason ran 6 miles.
I went downstairs to find water leaking...Jason discovered a TINY hole in the tubing that runs to the fridge. It's all fixed now.
Macey opened up her birthday present after dinner since tomorrow will be a busy day. She got a TON of used Littlest Pet Shop toys and some used American Girl Doll books. It cost me a whole $4.00 and she was the happiest thing ever :)
Tomorrow I will surprise her with some dangly peace sign earrings to wear to school.
I am headed to the couch to start my new book.

Bits and Pieces
Our family of 5 sat at the kitchen table after breakfast and either colored or did Calculus problems all together.
Kelsey didn't fall out of bed last night, so instead played with her porcelain doll that has a cast on it's leg, because she did break that a few weeks ago.
Taylie loved texting her sisters' names on her play phone.
Jason had birthday money to spend, so we all headed to Fremont, IN to the outlets to get him some new dress shirts.
The girls watched episodes of Full House on the way to Fremont.
We all shared a caramel and Oreo sundae at BK for dessert as a treat.
Visited an Aldi's in Indiana to stock up on some cheap produce and to pick out birthday treats for school. Kelsey picked out striped cookies and Macey picked out Oreos.
I ran into the Dollar Tree to grab some chip clips to add to Kelsey's "build your own fort" bag. (birthday present)
Jason and I both agreed, shopping with 3 kids is much much easier these days.
Jason & Kelsey took on Macey and me in a game of Battleship while Taylie did puzzles.
Taylie sang "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" while getting her monkey jam jams on.
After reading books before bed, Taylie talked me into letting her watch gymnastics on TV for a bit.
I asked Macey what she wants for her birthday dinner on Monday....she wants fruit and a salad.

Bits and Pieces
Macey and Jason got a SNOW DAY!
Jason was already up at 4:20am, and was showered, dressed, and had eaten breakfast already by the time he got the call at 5:25am.
Macey and Kelsey played with their American Girls a lot.
Kelsey's doll got sick today and was pretending to puke over the toilet.
Taylie told me, "I never want to be a boy."
Kelsey wore a sundress all day.
All 3 girls took showers.
Jason ran 4 miles.
I finished editing some 6 month pictures.
The girls' chore of the day was to strip their bed sheets. After being washed, I taught them how to put them back on. They did really well!
I made a new Pinterest recipe for dinner...chicken taco casserole. Jason really liked it!
The girls pulled each other around in a fitted sheet throughout the kitchen for fun.
Kelsey made two forts.
All 3 girls helped me make a breakfast casserole for tomorrow morning. Macey browned the turkey sausage, Kelsey cracked all the eggs and measured everything to stir. Taylie ripped all the bread into pieces.
Kelsey hopes she falls out of bed tonight and breaks a leg so she can use crutches tomorrow.
I'm going to go talk Jason into watching a movie on Netflix right now....

Bits and Pieces
Taylie painted on aluminum foil during preschool.
Kelsey built a fort that took over the entire family room.
Jason had leftovers for dinner while the girls and I had toast and cereal.
I had 10 kids and 4 moms in my house today during preschool time.
We had yummy cupcakes for dessert tonight thanks to Candice! (I babysit her twin boys and she runs her own cake business)
Macey read me her AR book while I picked up the kitchen tonight.
Jason is hoping for a snow day tomorrow.
Kelsey's new American Girl doll, Saige, has not left her side since she's gotten her.

Bits and Pieces
Kelsey was pleased to finally find her Goldfish graham cracker from yesterday hiding in her Croc shoe this morning in her backpack. When these are given out for breakfast at school, she always asks if she can take it home for Macey instead because she knows how much Macey likes them.
Taylie improved her tricycle riding skills.
Taylie got her first real haircut...about 2 inches off.

Taylie got her first real haircut...about 2 inches off.
Macey now has layers and thinner hair.
Kelsey wants to keep growing hers out.
Macey hung out with me in the kitchen while I made dinner chatting about her day at school and making a grid with a ruler and then filling it in with the first and last names of her entire class.
Kelsey and Taylie played "movie theater" instead while dinner was being made. They packed suitcases with blankets, gathered pillows, and made the living room as dark as possible to play on the kindle together.
Since it wasn't shower/bath night, we had time to sit by the fireplace and watch part of a movie. Kelsey picked out Sandlot.
Macey asked me give her a lesson on how to draw 3D objects.
All 3 kids were in bed by 6:30pm and I am now planning for preschool tomorrow.

Bits & Pieces
(So Elizabeth has started doing "Today..." blogs and it has inspired me to do some once in awhile as well. They should be quite fun to look back upon)
Taylie wanted to wear jam jams all day so I let her (until 4pm when we went to the library)
Macey made a cut out heart during indoor recess and wrote, "I love you Mom...From Macey" on it.
Taylie informed me today that Darrin is not her dad. He is Eliza's dad and he blows her kisses.
Kelsey was excited it was her friend, Peighton's birthday today, and can't wait for the party this weekend.
While I was on the phone today, Macey got on the computer, googled "Colon Library" and somehow found their hours, wrote them on a piece of paper, cut it out and stuck it on the fridge and said, "The library is open until 7pm, can we go?" How could I say no? :)
Taylie picked out a shapes book, Plop on Pop by Dr. Seus, and a Madeline DVD.
Kelsey picked out a chapter book on a gymnast named Dominique Moceaneau (sp?) and a horse movie.
Macey picked out a Magic Tree House book, Mercy Watson book, and Twenty-six Princesses.
I got Safe Haven
We tried a new recipe from Pinterest for dinner....Cheesy Chicken Lasagna. Only myself, Jason, and Macey liked it. surprise, surprise...
On the way to the library Taylie tells me, "I will be veeerrrrryyyyy quietllllllllllllyy at the library." And she was very good there.
Kelsey was excited to tell me, she told her teacher all about Chicago and the American Girl store today at school.
I tried to wear my hair down for the first time in months...it ended up in a ponytail by 2pm.
This was the first day in probably a month, that Kelsey has not made an indoor fort. Wait....take that back, she made one at Elizabeth's house today :)

Randomness
Jason's Birthday was last week and the first thing out of Kelsey's mouth when she woke up that day was, "I am so excited it's Dad's Birthday!"
She decorated all afternoon while he was at school.
All three girls had made him cards...Kels couldn't wait
to show him her card that said, "I love your spikey hair"
The most quiet time during preschool...
Valentine fun at Elizabeth's house on Tuesday.
Having a "swimming party" with the couch cushions....
How she always sits in a chair.
Best buddies :)
She loves to paint.
And help me try new pinterest recipes during the day.

Daddy Daughter Dance
Daddy Daughter Dance 2013
This was the first year Macey could attend Colon School's Daddy Daughter Dance. Jason treated Macey to a fancy dinner at McDonalds (happy meal and chocolate shake) before the big dance. She was so excited to share stories when she got home. They had a great time :)
