Taylie's talents

She might be a bit skinny, but she
knows how to roll the belly she's got!

Her mom might not be the brightest with her
order of ABC's, but she still knows what
letter stands for what!

Kelsey the dancing 4 yr old

This sweet little girl has just turned FOUR! Here's a bit about her at this age:

Things she loves:

dancing
singing songs she makes up
dresses and skirts (but shorts and pants are being worn once in awhile these days!)
playing outside
playing with her friends
taking pictures and posing for pictures
painting
picking flowers
Pippi Longstockings, Hook, Peter Pan
ravioli, pizza, green peppers and cucumbers
playing "house"

Our Kelsey has a very easy going lovable personality and gets excited for whatever the day brings. She loves to help out around the house and is determined to be more and more independent everyday. Her imagination is still wild and half the time I have no clue what she's talking about, but to her it all makes perfect sense. There are days she has a different name and I am her pretend mom. Oh she makes us smile! :)

This girl likes to perform. She hides in the hallway or behind the curtain and we have to say, "Presenting....Kelsey Lynn Burgess!" So here she is doing her recital dance which is coming up in May. We have parent observation night this Thursday and it will be the first time to see what she does in class. Can't wait!

(she lifts her shirt so we can see her belly
roll movement during her mermaid move which she calls it)

Here she is singing and dancing. Notice, half the time you can't understand what she's saying as she's trying to make it up as she goes. It's always fun to see where the song ends up.

Piggies!

We went to our friend's farm yesterday for part of our preschool to see some little piglets!

Taylie and Eliza weren't too fond of them, but the other kids loved them and we all learned quite a bit!

Macey at SIX

Macey at 6 Years Old

Macey loves anything that involves a writing utensil in her hand. I would say about 90% of the day at home (when she's awake :) ) you will find her with paper and pencil or crayons in hand. She prefers crayons to markers and loves coloring books. If she has a blank piece of paper she will write down addition and subtraction problems, numbers as high as she can go, random sentences or jot down all her friends/family's names. Many days if we have time, she requests to have "school" set up when she gets home from school. I set up options at the table for her to work on or set out certain worksheets for her. I love her excitement for learning right now and am quite happy to work with her as much as I can.

Her favorite foods include strawberries, yogurt, Frosted Flakes, apples, Pringles, tacos, noodles with butter and parmesean cheese, green peppers, cherry tomatoes, and donuts. She isn't a fan of cooked vegetables, french fries, spaghetti sauce, or pizza.

At this time she is not too picky about her clothes. She prefers blue jeans with a long sleeved shirt and tennis shoes. Her request is for her hair to be in a pony tail or french braids on the sides.

She still loves to talk about what happens at school, not about what they're really learning, but what kids say, do, get in trouble for, wear, or eat for snack/lunch. Oh the details I hear :)

That pretty much sums up Macey at this age so here are a few pictures and a video to finish things up. Since really all she does has to do with books and paper that is what I decided to put up. I'm hoping she'll love to look back at this someday!

Tea Time!

Elizabeth's mom put on an extravagant Tea Party for the big girls the other day! It involved dressing up, receiving real tea cups, drinking real tea (they thought it was ick!), doing crafts, eating fancy foods, and walking to the library to read about tea parties.

Hello Kitty Party

Jason's parents came down the Friday before Macey's birthday and brought her McDonald's at school. Both girls were given the choice of getting a surprise for their birthday or to go shopping with Grandma and Grandpa. Kelsey wanted hers to be a surprise and Mace wanted to go shopping. so after school they went shopping and she picked out more books and some clothes. After the girls went to bed, we decorated the house and got things ready for the Hello Kitty party that would start in the morning.

The day started with a small breakfast, some books with Grandpa, and then off to gymnastics we went. It worked out well that open gymnastics was planned that day and many of the girls' friends were going anyways so it was like I was throwing them a party there :)

We then picked up $10 pizzas at Pizza Hut and came home to eat, open presents, eat cupcakes and ice cream and play.

Here's a ton of pictures from the day!

Peace!

Note: Forgot my camera at home for this trip and had to use "Kelsey's" camera that was left in my purse instead with a broken flash.

A few weekends ago, we made a trip to Holland to celebrate the girls' birthday. This year we started a new tradition, the girls going on a "date" with my dad. Friday night, my dad greeted Mace at the door (at Brenda's house where we were staying) with a rose. She chose to eat at Red Robin and Barnes and Noble to shop. The girl is still obsessed with books.

The rest of us enjoyed some yummy Jet's pizza at Brenda's place and hung out. Dave and Hannah and even Sis came to visit as well. It was nice catching up.

Saturday morning, Kelsey was greeted with a rose as well and chose Russ' to eat for breakfast and went to Walmart and Target to shop for new toys. The girls loved this new tradition so I think it's a tradition that will stay.

While Kelsey was out and about, the rest of us enjoyed Wooden Shoe for breakfast and did some good thrift store shopping. I am jealous of everyone that is close to Holland and can enjoy BumbleBeas, the Hive, and Honeypot whenever you want. WOW are those stores fun! After a quick visit with Grandpa, we were ready to party.

The girls agreed with a tie dye/ peace theme this year. And of course Bren came through again with a fun cake.

Kels in her new dance outfit playing with her
doll salon chair she picked out with Bumpa.

Taylie loving her birthday cake ice cream.

Mace loves her Aunt Brenda :)
(notice the cool purple desk that Uncle Keith refinished for
the girls! He found it for free on the side of the
road and now it looks brand new)

Happy girl with her coloring book!
