Bits from the Weekend

I had a garage sale on Friday and Saturday with my friends Elizabeth and Andrea.  Everything was marked 25 cents besides maybe 15 items which were $1 or $2.  We made $127 total and donated quite a few items to an expectant mother and to the new Colon Free Store.  I got a lot out of my house so it was a success :)

Macey went to her first sleepover...her good friend Sophia had her 8th B-day party and they tie-dyed shirts.
Jason taught the two bigger girls to play Clue.

Kelsey caught a cricket...realized it had a broken leg and debated for a long time on how she could put a cast on it without touching it.  She never figured it out.

I had some old bananas so I found a new recipe...Banana Blondies.  I substituted the oil with peach applesauce.  Kelsey is the only one that thinks they're great.

The girls and I talked about how to be a good friend this morning at our Sunday School.  Kelsey prayed for all the people going to the dentist this week.  Last week she prayed for all the sad people to get wild and crazy, but not too crazy.

Taylie loves this cooler weather because it means she can wear fleece again!

Macey can't find one of her Dork Diaries books...I am afraid I returned it to the library.  Better make a call on Monday.

I'm excited for Big Brother tonight.

No one has school tomorrow since it's Fair Day!

First Day of School!

Back to School!

It's always hard for me to let everyone go back to school each year.  Yes the girls were ready...not sure Jason will ever feel "excited" to head back, and Taylie was glad to see her friends today, but the emptiness of the house for the first few days is uneasy to me.  I am glad I started right up with babysitting so I stayed busy and the day flew by. Before I knew it, they were coming off the bus telling me all about their day.

Macey got her planner that she was so excited to get.  It's a communication type assignment book that gets initialed by parents and teacher everyday.  I think she carried it around all night.  Dad was the lucky one to sign it for the first day!  She is happy to have almost all of her best girlfriends in her class this year and gets to experience a different type of learning/teaching style this year since she's in a 2nd/3rd grade class.

Kelsey couldn't wait to be at school ALL day and to make new friends since most of her friends are in the other class.  She came home rambling off name after name of all her new friends.  I think she told me three times that she went out for recess TWO times and had gym and music.  It was almost too much fun for this sweet girl to handle in one day.  I have no clue what they did in the classroom though :)

The bus came at 7:10am this morning so it was really quite dark out still and my pictures turned out blurry.
