Kelsey is FOUR

Just kidding, but she THINKS she's four. I ask her many times throughout the day how old she is now and she'll answer, "Four." Then when I say, "Try again!" she'll respond, "six? seven?" She wants to be old like Macey and always talks about how she's growing. I just tell her, you want to stay young, and three is a great age to be :)

Here's a little bit about our 3 year old:
Favorite food: pizza with extra sauce to dip it in
Sleeps: 7pm-7am
Naps: Only naps if she's sick, had a late night, or up early. Has "rest" time at 2pm for an hour or so instead.
Has an imaginary friend named Cody who is 17 yrs old. She will say he's only pretend, but we hear a lot about Cody throughout the day. She will say, "My boy told me to say that," or "My boy is going to the ball with me, but he's still at his house sleeping and still has to get ready." Not sure where the name came from. We don't know any Cody's.
LOVES dresses and prefers to wear them everyday. I can talk her into wearing jeans pretty easily still, but I usually let her wear a dress.
Favorite toys: Imaginative play with her small princess figurines or polly pockets. Also, still likes her baby dolls.
Still loves to suck her thumb at night and all day long :)
Calls every meal supper.
Was potty trained at just over 2 1/2 yrs old. Woke up one day and said she wanted to wear underwear and has only had one accident since. (and that was on the bathroom floor) Still wears a diaper to bed though.
Still has huge tonsils so we're going to go see an ENT doctor this Friday to see if she needs them out.
Loves to color and cut paper.
Favorite movies: Wizard of Oz, Shrek, Little House on the Prairie, and Sleeping Beauty.
One word to describe her: Sweet

Wizard of Oz Party

Both girls agreed on a Wizard of Oz theme for their combined party at Bumpa's house.

Good thing for their Aunt Brenda who goes all out of on working with the theme for the cake and food.
The girls helped decorate their fun cake.

Rainbow fruit!

Ruby red slipper cookies!

Mace as Dorothy and Kels as Glinda the good witch with their Aunt Sis.

Their costumes didn't last too long since they recieved so many cute dresses as gifts, which had to be tried on :)

Now that is a FUN cake!

Grandpa checking it out...

Thanks to everyone for making their party so special.
They are two lucky little girls :)

My big girl is FIVE

Macey Renee at age FIVE:
-Loves everything about preschool. She loves her teachers and friends. I don't hear much of what she's learning, but I get a lot of details about what kids wear, what they say, who gets in trouble, what kids pack in their lunches, and who she played with.
-Is in absolute love with her baby sister. She will make comments to me like, "Oh mom, she's so cute I just want to bite her." I tell her, "I know exactly how you feel."
-Doesn't like independent play too much besides doing "homework." (she likes to pretend she has homework and sits at the table to look "busy") and playing with polly pockets. She prefers to have someone playing with her at most times.
-Sleeps from 7pm-7am (going to bed is never a battle) Will still nap around 2 hrs on weekends if I make her lay down.
-Very helpful around the house.
-The last two nights, hasn't sucked her thumb to fall asleep. I thought this would be more difficult than it has been so far. I bought some cheap books from Goodwill and wrapped them up. In the morning, if she didn't suck her thumb, she can pick one out. This is enough motivation for her since she loves books. We're still allowing blankie in bed though :)
-Tacos are her favorite food
-Very particular about her clothes when it comes to matching, how things fit (hates things short), if it's girly enough, and lately has been liking clothes with a "check" on them. (Nike brand) because that's what dad wears :)
-Likes to have things "her" way.
-Has a mind that is always working. This morning she woke up and first thing out of her mouth was, "How can God see us in our house when he's up in Heaven?" Tonight she asked, "Is funner a word?" I told her that it's not a word and that we should say "more fun" instead. But then I was questioned forever about WHY it's not a word. Her questions are never ending.
-Is quite responsible and reliable for her age.
-Has great concern for others.
Since she got a caboodles for her birthday, she wanted to give her jewelry box to a little girl that doesn't have one. The other day she saw a girl walking by herself out to the playground and said, "Oh that's sad....she doesn't have a friend to walk with."
I'm curious as to what age FIVE will bring in the next year :)
Happy Birthday my big girl! I love you so much!

Day at the Farm!

Thanks again to the Sharp Family for letting us come visit their farm. Carol spent the day showing us around their place. The kids got to make bottles to feed the lambs, ride Blizzard the miniature pony, feed Jackson the horse, gather eggs in the hen house, and pet a rabbit. She also treated us to a delicious lunch and the kids enjoyed a cute catepillar cupcake that Savannah made for dessert in celebration of Grant's 2nd birthday!
