going on day 10

How long can a stomach bug last? WAY too long, that's for sure. Mace is still fighting it off and she was the first to start. She's been dehydrated but not enough to get fluids from an IV ( according to a hot shot doctor that wouldn't listen to a word I said ). Her lips have turned purple along with her legs when it gets really bad, but for the most part she's just not herself. Her stubborness along with not feeling well have caused her to not want to drink much at all or eat more than 5 bites of something in a day. She is going on day 10 for diarrhea and is hardly peeing at all. I just need my little miss Mace back to her normal self.

On a brighter note, we did get new carpet in our living room. I am thrilled because this room heats a ton better than our family room so we've moved furniture and are no longer freezing all day long!

Waiting for Daddy to come home from work.

That's my Roo.

Not feeling so hot.
Yes Roo, you're a big girl.
(this is her new obsession,
begging to to sit in her sister's
booster seat)

I can tell that Macey doesn't feel good by the way she looks in that picture :( That's a good one of Kels in the booster seat!

Sweet pictures. I feel so bad that Macey is still sick. Did you go see the dr. at his office or just talk to the hot shot over the phone ?

we went to the ER yesterday, the doctor said by looking at her she wasn't dehydrated.

it sounds like she might have the roto virus. Summer had it last summer. She was sick for 2 weeks and in the hospital for 5 days for dehydration. I am no doctor but Macey sounds extremely dehydrated to me. If you pinch her skin, does it stay pinched for more than a second? if it does than she is dehydrated. She probably would feel better if she get some IV fluids even if just for a couple of hours. I hope she feels better soon.

Man, the bugs are not letting up on the kiddos this season, are they? :( I hope your girl(S?) are back to their happy selves VERY soon. Nice pictures, though! Can you believe a year ago you and I were comparing notes on pregnancy and wondering when these babies would make their appearances?!

Well the good news is what you said, you have a warmer living room to be in. The bad news is: Not shot doctors, Macey feeling like crap and her not eating. Do you think you should get another opinion from a normal Doctor?

I'll throw my 2 cents in too, and agree that by now something needs to be done to get Macey hydrated. I remember when our girls were little and had that problem Dr. Dykema would start by recommending a drink you can buy at the grocery store - wish I could remember the name - that has electrolytes in it. It's made specifically for babies and young children. I'm sure you've probably tried that by now, though. Ten days of diarrhea and no eating - not good. I'd take her right back to the ER. Poor sweetheart, and poor mommy! You must be exhausted by now! So sorry.....
