Home Sweet Home

So here we are finally in our new home. It sure does feel good to be at a place to call home after moving 3 times. We closed on Thursday at 4pm, got the keys and came right here to see what we needed to do before moving in. We were so anxious to get moved in yet get some things done before getting all of our stuff here. So we left it up in the air to see what we could get done in a day. So between all the Halloween festivities on Friday, I called to switch everything into our name and to set up phone, internet, trash service, etc. Then Saturday was a big day. We are SO thankful for all the help we received from friends and family. (Another big thank you to Karen again for supplying the food for the day. I am still eating the bbq since we still have no food in the house and it STILL tastes so good!) We accomplished cleaning the house, ripping down wallpaper and moving all of our furniture from the rental to here. So just like that, we were sleeping here by Saturday night. Sadly to say, we didn't sleep well the first night due to Kels getting a cold which turned to croup (yes again) during the night.
Slowly but surely it is feeling more and more like home. At night, Jason will look at me and say, "This feels good." He's also glad to be driving 2 minutes to school and I am glad to be in town, walking distance to Elizabeth's, library, post office, bank and parks. We are loving the extra space this house gives us and have big plans for the future of what we want to do. This weekend the two lower bedrooms should be ready for painting and then we can't decide what will be next on our long list. Most rooms need just newer updated flooring and paint. The previous owners loved paneling and wallpaper :(
Well much is to be done around here since both girls are sleeping. Many boxes are waiting to be unpacked and much organizing needs to be done, it's just so hard when in one day you get internet and cable! So tempting to using both all day long.....

Macey enjoying handing out candy at Bennett's house while he was gone trick or treating. As you can see, Halloween is a big event in Colon!

My sweet pumpkin that just got done rubbing her eyes....poor thing got called a boy all night long :(

My darling fairy enjoying probably too much candy.

Halloween fun at library storytime. (yes, Kels was a cheerleader by day (easier for carseat purposes) and pumpkin by night)
