Great-Grandpa made it to Colon!

Today Aunt Jean was kind enough to take a day off work and bring Macey and Kelsey's great-grandpa Nykerk down to Colon to see what it's all about. He requested he wanted to make it to one of Jason's basketball games and to see our house. We were excited they made it safely here around 2pm so we had time to sit, chat, play, and eat before the game. Macey and Kelsey were quite shy at first when they woke up from their naps, but they slowly became themselves. Macey looked for Waldo with great-grandpa and Kelsey watched some Milo and Otis with him. We ate some bbq on buns and were off to the game. The Magi played tough and were within points most of the game but couldn't pull off a win. I am amazed at how grandpa can sit on those bleachers for a whole game. He didn't want to sit on the bottom bleacher either, he had to climb up to the third row for a better view I guess :) It was a fun day and we're glad they came.

Tomorrow we have Brenda and Lisa coming to visit!

It's a comfy lap to watch Milo and Otis.

Who knows what they're laughing at.

(yes, the walls are now primed and you'll get a whole blog on all of our updating here soon!)

Quotes

Lately I'm realizing that Macey is getting so old. It used to be so easy to do a quote of the day because she would say so many funny things. Now, she's getting old and just talks way too old. The questions she asks, oh my, and because does not work for an answer, I now get, "because why?" I am worried I am not going to be able to answers the interesting questions she will be coming up with in the next few years. But I have compiled these quotes from the past week, they're just ones that popped into my head right now.

(Macey handing me the grocery receipt) "Here's an email for you Mom"

(while we're doing a puzzle together one afternoon) "Mom, you're a great best friend"

(while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)
Macey -"Why doesn't Mickey live in a house like ours?
Me- "Well........because he likes to play with his friends so his is more like a playhouse."
Macey- "No Mom, his is called a Clubhouse"
Me- "Oh, you're right"

(while watching tv before Jason came home from work)
Macey -"Sometimes I'm sssssselllllllFFFFish"
Me- "Why?"
Macey- "Because I don't let Daddy have a turn with the TV"

(she is really working hard at getting her S's, L's, and F's pronounced right lately) :)

Macey fed a little lamb

Today we were invited to go along with Elizabeth and kids to our friends' Mark and Carol's farm. They have baby lambs and wanted the kids' help to feed them bottles. I was very proud of my Miss Mace for taking a bottle and feeding them right away. Kelsey was just in awe of it all and didn't mind them one bit. She kept calling them dogs and I when I would tell her they were lambs, and she'd shake her head no. All the kids had fun being in the barn and walking outside in the puddles. Mace cried when we had to leave so I know she had fun. Thank you to Mark and Carol for inviting us, we had a great time!
