I hope you got enough for a pie or muffins...just for the record, I used to pick 100 pounds a day and fill a card which paid 6.00, ( six) dollars.
Then I got promoted to work in the shed on the conveyer belt and packing berries. I think we made 65 cents an hour. We worked liked slaves and we have a lot of stories about it, Jean and I that is, the boys never worked out in the blazing fields. We started at the patch when we were about 7 years old and my back has never been the same.
Jean...remember when we flipped over the "chariot", we were all hurt, bleeding but we had to go back to the shed and pretend it never happened. Those people that owned the patch were Christian Scientists, did not believe in pain, doctors or hurt....we stood at the belt until about 9pm pretending we were all ok.
I have NEVER liked blueberrries since
