Chicago Trip

As their birthday birthday gift this year, Jason's mom treated the girls to a trip to Chicago to pick out an American Girl doll.  We decided to go on the Friday of mid-winter break for the day.  Lisa took the day off work to join us too!

Jason stayed behind in Dorr with Taylie at his parents house and ran some errands with her for the day.

We got on the train in Michigan City around 8:30am.

And walked straight to the American Girl store!

Macey thought she wanted Caraline, but decided on a My American Girl doll, which is a doll that resembles yourself.  They don't come with a name so after awhile of thinking about it, she named her Jenna.

Kelsey knew all along she wanted Saige, the doll of the year.

We ALL had fun picking out a few accessories to go with their dolls.

We ate at a fancy food court in the water tower where the American Girl store is located.

What a fun trip!  Thanks Grammy!

American Girl Tea Party

Macey and Kelsey shared a birthday party again this year.  The theme they decided on was, American Girl Tea Party.  We invited the guests to dress up, we ate on my mom's China, and ate "fancy" finger foods.  We set up a photo booth, decorated a picture frame, and colored American Girl coloring pages.

Here are some of my favorites....

Bits and Pieces

We all woke Kelsey up by singing Happy Birthday.

She had a yummy dougnut for breakfast and orange juice in her Annie mug.

We measured how tall she was on the growth chart and she's 45 inches.

A few answers from her birthday questionaire were:

She wants to be a mom when she grows up.
Her favorite color is hot pink.
    Her favorite food is ravioli.
Her favorite thing to do at home is watch tv and play in forts.

We built two great forts today using her present:  Fort in a bag (clothes line, chip clips, many flashlights, head lamp, batteries and bed sheets)

Taylie and Kelsey helped wash dishes in the sink for me.  Then without them looking, they went into the dishwasher to get washed for good.

Taylie's cheeks are so blotchy red lately due to teething with molars :(

Kelsey wanted a BLT sub from Subway for dinner....I was very pleased with her choice!
