Halloween 2012

This past Saturday, I took the big girls to the Monster Mash at the Elementary School.  The gym was all decorated and the kids were allowed to wear their costumes since they don't during the school parties.  They can dance, get a fun picture taken, eat snacks, win prizes, and hang out.

That night we carved pumpkins and baked pumpkin seeds....YUM.

We had to quickly get ready after school on Halloween because trick or treating starts at 4pm in Colon, which is nice since it's still light out then.  Taylie wasn't feel so well, but with a little Motrin, she was able to make it around the block with us to get some candy.  Of course, trick or treating is always a hit and the girls love it.  Then they have just as much fun as we sit in the driveway to pass out candy.  Since it's so busy, our candy didn't last too long.

Taylie has been wearing her bunny costume almost everyday now for about two weeks.

Macey picked to be a black cat this year.

I am so glad Kels decided to be a clown.  My mom made this costume for Brenda and I when we were little.  I am on the hunt for pictures of us in it.

It was a bit misty and cold out trick or treating, but still fun.  I got a huge hug from Kels before heading to bed, "Thanks mom, today was the BEST!"

I Love...

I love Fall and everything that comes with it....

Our simple old blue house with white fence on a colorful tree-lined street.

There's just something about a tire swing...

Girls that love getting their pictures taken just as much as I LOVE taking them...

The colors, colors, and more colors....

The sound of horse and buggy trotting by....

Bringing schoolwork outside...

Seeing bald eagles fly on over...

Having Kelsey bake us cheesecake pumpkin muffins...

Oh I love days like this....

Taylie at TWO

I haven't done an update on Taylie since she's turned two so here we go:

She is still teeny tiny as in 21 lbs (I've lost track as to how FAR below the growth chart that is)
She is as healthy as can be though :)

Sleeps great in her toddler bed.  Goes to bed around 7:30pm and gets up at 6:30am.  Naps from 1pm-3pm.   Naps are not yet a struggle, and usually runs off to bed right after lunch yelling, "Naptime!"

She is fully potty trained besides at night.  She decided just over two weeks ago, that she was ready to do it all herself so I went along with it.  Many times, I will just hear the toilet flushing as she has to do things on her own.  She's at the "Miss Independent" stage.

She shows much interest in what she wears, which would be fleece pajamas everyday if I would let her.

Favorite foods are the same:  yogurt drinks, whipped yogurt, cheese, jelly sandwiches, toast, cereal, apples, and raspberries.

Her favorite things include:  books, photos books, pointing out every letter and who's name it stands for, throwing fits, going to her friend Eliza's house, waiting for her sisters' bus, and taking baths.

The mornings Kelsey is at school, she is my little shadow.  Our routine is to eat breakfast together and then sit and look at books for quite some time while I drink my coffee.   Then she helps me around the house unload dishes, sweep, vacuum, etc.  I enjoy these days with her as before I know it, I will be putting her on that bus for preschool!
