What they're up to now

What Macey's been up to:

Giving me baby appointments.

Playing games on Nick Jr.

She thought it would be a good idea to put a reminder on the fridge of my next appointment so I don't forget.  She takes this all quite seriously.  She gets out her notepad and asks me questions, uses a play carrot or make believe doppler to find the heartrate, pushes the button on the chair to recline me, wipes off my "white stuff" on my belly from using the doppler, and helps me sit back up.  I can't wait until my next appointment, she says it's on Wednesday in the living room :)

Here she is playing on Nick Jr.  She's quite proud
she's figuring out how to do it all by herself.

What Kelsey's been up to:

Wearing lots of layers.

Playing in the snow.

Watching Punky Brewster.

She must know it's cold outside!  Kelsey loves to put on clothes.  Tonight when I had to get her pajama's on, she had 5 layers on.  No wonder her cheeks were so red.

Her other new thing lately is her obsession of Punky Brewster.  (Her Aunt Brenda lent us a long time ago a few DVD's with about 8 episodes on each)  When asked what movie she wants to watch, it's always "Pungy Ewster!"  I can't complain, love her too!

Here they are lined up ready to head outside to walk to Playgroup at the library.  I think we all got our exercise that day :)

Even though it's been cold out, we try to get out to play!  We don't get near as much snow down here as when we lived in Dorr.  So the other day when we got about 5 inches, it was a real treat!

Christmas and July

So the news is officially out!  We're expecting our third on July 22, 2010.  Macey was the one to tell her dad this time around and here's what she drew.  Before he was even in the door to look at it, she yelled out, "Mommy's having a baby!"  She talks about it a lot more than Kels does at this point.  She will ask me if I have found a name yet for the baby, gives my belly hugs and kisses, asks if it's coming through if she hears my belly gurgle, asks me if I need to throw up, and is determined to have another sister.  So we'll see? :)  Morning sickness hit a little later this time than my other pregnancies so I thought I was in the clear but it has hit hard since.  I did enjoy some Christmas goodies at least, but I would have liked a lot more.  Right after Christmas I got some kind of bug that gave me a fever for 3 days, sore throat, and fatigue.  I honestly didn't get out of bed or off the couch for 3 days.  Jason is still on break so he did everything which was wonderful so I could relax and get better.  I am feeling a lot better now and morning sickness hasn't been near as bad as of yesterday so hopefully that's nearing an end!  BUT as of the last few days I am getting really bad headaches that last all day and turn into almost migraine headaches at night.  I had this with Macey's pregnancy as well and should be gone in a few weeks hopefully.  They are miserable, but honestly it's just nice to be able to eat something besides toast and dry cereal so I can handle a new symptom for awhile.  We all went to my doctor's appointment this past Thursday and the heartrate was at 160 and everything seems good besides some moles he wants me to have looked at so I am referred to a dermatologist to get those checked out here soon.  Hopefully around the beginning of March is when we'll be able to find out what we're having so we can prepare!

Now onto the Christmas details. We had Santa visit our house a day early since we were leaving to head up north on the 24th. The girls were really into Christmas this year. Mace of course had to question everything about everything. For example, at the Burgess Christmas party the Sunday before, Santa came to visit and gave her a Sleeping Beauty Barbie doll. She had to question why Santa was skinnier and why she got a barbie doll, not the princess castle that she told him about a few weeks earlier. Kels just had Santa on her mind a lot. I think she was scared that he was really coming to our house. She would repeat, "Santa me dress pink no knock at door his house nap" over and over. (Santa's going to bring me a pink dress, he won't knock at our door, he's at his house napping)

Here they are the night before Santa came with his cookies and milk.  (the presents under the tree are known as the presents we give to others, Santa has special wrapping paper, and those were put out later :)  )

Santa got her what she wanted, a princess castle!

Kelsey is pleased as can be with her new pink dress from Santa.

We then packed up at had Christmas Eve service at First Reformed in Holland and then went to dad's for food and presents.  The girls got spoiled and loved every bit of it.  The time goes by so fast, and before you know we have to quick pick up and take off to Jason's parents house so we can wake up and have Christmas morning with them.

We started Christmas morning with a big breakfast and opening presents.  This year we decided to just make appetizers for the afternoon since we don't need a big meal.  Let's just say we could have eaten appetizers for a week straight we had so much food.

Jason and Merek with their new vests on.

Tearing into the presents.

Cousins with matching pj's.

Christmas night we went to my dad's house again for the Nykerk party where we played Pictionary and BINGO.  Somehow it's always entertaining at the Nykerk party and we seem to laugh quite a bit.  It was a fun time :)

After one more Christmas party on Sunday, we had completed all five parties and were pooped and ready to come home.  They were fun while they lasted, but it's always nice to be home again after it all :)  When we pulled in our driveway, Macey says, "Oh I missed my house so much" and then we had Kels in tears saying, "No house, go church!"

Isn't she cute?

Macey finally got to build the
snowman that she's been dying to make!
